Description

Learning differently. Nowadays we can hardly imagine our world without streaming platforms such as YouTube, Facebook or other websites to learn new content. We are able to find anything we need with just a click of a button. Short and crisp tutorials aiming to introduce a topic step by step and can be paused and reviewed anytime.

This new learning format is not only used by people of all ages in their free time but also encouraged and offered more and more to staff in companies of all varieties.
The Adoption Services team in the pharma industry, responsible for managing and offering training and tools, decided to create so called Learning Nuggets for their internal staff. This widened the training offering, giving end users the possibility to watch short learning video tutorials whereas attending the classical presence and virtual trainings or Power Hour, Lunch & Learn sessions already available. The IT Learning videos are 2-3-minute deep dive tutorials which introduce an IT topic in a simplistic and lively manner.

Creating IT Learning Videos is an elaborate process. After analysing demand and prioritising topics, Innobrain in partnership with another training provider generate a storyboard. The goal is to create an easy to follow everyday business situation out of an IT topic which the end user has experienced before. The recognition value is given special emphasis, therefore the IT Learning Videos are filmed at different site locations sometimes with internal staff “actors” in order to give the IT content that certain “je ne sais quoi”.
An Innobrain member stars in all the IT Learning Videos and records the voice over sequences off screen in both languages.
The result is four learning videos in German and English created per day.

The finalised videos are then posted on an internal streaming platform Kaltura. Google+ posts and info mails are sent out to end users to draw attention and enhance marketing.

The Viewer figures are remarkable and confirm two things: Learning by doing is key because watching short tutorials and applying what you have learned on your own screen gives the viewer instant satisfaction and immediately deepens knowledge. And secondly, learning is possible anywhere, anytime and with any device.
