Project description
MiFID II became effective in January 2018 specifying and tightening the requirements towards the Target Market of a financial instrument. The Target Market defines if a financial instrument is suitable for a target group or not. This should prevent private investors from investing in products with a certain complexity and risk and as a consequence thereof not meeting their capabilities or needs.
The Target Market for financial instruments defines eight criteria. Based on the criteria definitions it is likely that private investors cannot invest into specific asset classes as they are in a negative Target Market of an instrument. The goal of the training measure was to give understanding to client advisors and client facing employees how the Target Market works and why the Target Market can lead to selling restrictions.
The training was developed as a one-hour session and carried out as virtual classroom training. 800 employees from three segments were trained. The training session was later recorded by Innobrain staff and uploaded to web servers in MP4 format to serve the purposes of refresher training for employees and training for new joiners.
With many years of experience and broad-based knowledge in the financial industry Innobrain is also a competent partner in the conduction of virtual classrooms in addition to professional recording and production of visual video and audio material.
